This is a reminder of the submission deadline for Topic Maps 2008,
which is extended until sunday January 6, 2008.

The plans for Topic Maps 2008 are moving quickly forward.

The Second International Topic Maps Users Conference, will take place
in Oslo on April 2-4 2008, and consists of a day of tutorials
followed by two days of presentations.

The conference has "Towards the Vision of Subject-centric computing"
as its theme, and there are already some great keynote speakers lined
up:
- David Weinberger, author of "Everything is miscellaneous"
- Alex Wright, author of "Glut: Mastering Information Through the Ages"
- Steve Pepper, author of "The TAO of Topic Maps"

Registration opens in late January, and the full program will also be
published then. In the meantime, I encourage you to mark your
calendars and start looking for funding. This conference should not
be missed!

A Topic Maps based conference website is up and running, and will
hopefully be a good Topic Maps showcase with some more work and content:

Call for presentations and tutorials
-------------------------------------
We are particularly interested in proposals for presentations based
on real-life case studies, but other presentations aimed at
practitioners of Topic Maps will be considered (e.g., tools
overviews, generalized project experiences, etc.).

Presentations will be 20-45 minutes long, and include time for
questions. Attendance will range from 50-250 people in each room.

There will be a whole day of tutorials on Wednesday 2 April.
Proposals are sought on any Topic Maps-related subject that is
suitable for a full-day or half-day tutorial.

For more information see the published Call for Presentations and
Tutorials:
