Hi all,
Currently we're trying to create a German Topic Maps terminology [TMT]
which can be used to describe / discuss Topic Maps in German language.
The TMDM glossary is in our main focus and we stumbled on the term
"topic map construct" [TMDM] 3.20.
"Topic map construct" is described as "component of a topic map; that
is, a topic map, a topic, a topic name, a variant name, an occurrence,
an association, or an association role."
The question is, if "topic map construct" is the right term or if
"Topic Maps construct" wouldn't be 'more' correct.
Some think, that "Topic Maps construct" would fit better since this
term refers to the 'high level' components such as "topic",
"association" etc. and not to a particular instance of these
components.
Our question is basically, if "Topic Maps construct" shouldn't be the
superordinate concept for "topic map", "topic", "association",
"association role", "topic name", "occurrence", and "variant".
Maybe "topic map construct" exists, too, if someone refers to a
particular topic, association etc. within a particular topic map but I
am not sure if that term is valuable / makes sense.
Thoughts? Comments?
