Production topic maps are generally not shared with the public, for  
reasons I think you can guess. :-) So most of the really interesting  
topic maps in use today you can't actually get hold of.

You can, however, find a list of online topic maps here:

I've included the ones Darina posted plus the ones you dug up, and  
will post more as/when I find more. Others can of course do the same.

For many applications this is not an issue, because the information  
users want in their topic map either obviously does not exist anywhere  
in any form, or it exists in convertable form.

In other cases this is of course an issue, but this is a bootstrapping  
issue, and only creating topic maps will solve it. In Norway this  
problem is beginning to be solved, and we're now starting to see  
projects where parts of the topic map are maintained by an external  
source.
