I would like to inform you of an interesting meeting in the Norwegian  
Topic Maps user group next tuesday, in case some of you have the  
chance to visit us in Oslo.

A main challenge for the use of knowledge representation in software  
applications (like Topic Maps and Semantic Web technology) is the  
cost of the intellectual effort required to construct and maintain  
knowledge structures such as semantic networks, taxonomies and a  
backbone ontology. Automated extraction from existing documentation  
is an obvious strategy, but what are the challenges and experiences  
with such an approach?

Tuesday october 30th we have invited three leading norwegian experts  
on information extraction and automated classification, and would  
like to discuss how semantic technology best can be used as a solution.

The meeting will be in english.
