Hello everyone
Happy to inform that Wandora application (http://www.wandora.net) is
capable to import
o XTM and in fact any XML if you have the XSL for XML to XTM
transformation.
o LTM
o RDF(S) and N3 although the import schema is very simple.
Export formats are XTM, LTM, and N3. N3 export contains very narrow
subset of topic map features. Wandora's most interesting extractors
are:
o Database extractor converts almost any SQL database to a topic map.
o Email extractor converts emails and DBX and MBOX email repositories
to a topic map.
o MediaWiki extractor converts MediaWiki (Wikipedia for example) XML
dumps to a topic map. Conversion does not process links in the wiki
page content but they may be transformed later to associations with
another Wandora tool (Find associations in text datas).
o FreeDB extractor reads freedb (www.freedb.org) database entries
and converts the data to a topic map.
o IMDB extractor reads Internet Movie Database (http://www.imdb.com/)
files and converts them to topic maps.
o Simple PDF, MP3, and JPG metadata extractors read binary files and
creates a topic map out of file's metadata.
New - yet unpublished - version of Wandora has also a set of
extractors for Last.fm's web api. New Wandora version will be
published within couple weeks as we are currently finishing Wandora's
own web api (wsdl).
I agree the extractor set has many music and media related
extractors. This is due to a vision that music and media related
content is one of the most important key factors driving the demand
for topic maps (and the rest of the semantic web technologies).
We are always looking for new extraction ideas and welcome
suggestions for new extractors. If you need a topic map
extractor/generator for any data/metadata format please drop us a
line and we are happy to think it over. No strings attached.
Wandora application can be downloaded from http://www.wandora.net.
The site has also more information about the import, export, and
extract capabilities listed above.
Best regards,
