Thomas,

Congratulations on creating a German Topic Maps consortium! The idea of
sponsoring a developer team for producing a stable and complete version
of an open source TM engine is wonderful. However, I would suggest that
you look at TMAPI instead of TM4J which uses a newer standard. 

I am looking forward to see any advancement in this direction.

Good luck in securing funding for such a project!
