Hi all,

Lutz Maicher published a topic map, called bibMap (Bibliography of
Topic Map Research), at
http://www.informatik.uni-leipzig.de/~maicher/bib/bibmap_latest.ltm

The subject indicators used in the topic map are build with
http://isbn.org/<ISBN-NO>.

For example the "XML Topic Maps" book has the subject identifier
http://www.isbn.org/ISBN-0201749602

These URLs do not resolve, in fact you get a 404 if you try to resolve
them.

Lutz and me have discussed this issue and found the following
possibilities for better subject identifiers:

  - usage of the urn:ISBN: namespace
    (i.e.: urn:ISBN:0201749602)
  - usage of the http://isbn.nu/ namespace
    (i.e.: http://isbn.nu/0201749602 )

To make the above mentioned topic map more usable Lutz and me are
interested in the best practise for ISBN subject identifiers.

Best regards,
Lars
