Hello all,
A new version of the TM4L Editor is now available. Some bugs have been =
fixed and some new features have been added. For example, the current =
version supports three views: Topic Partonomy, Topic Taxonomy and Topic =
Typing. The first view displays a part-whole tree, the second one - a =
class-subclass tree, and the last one displays the class-instance =
structure of the topic map. With this enhancement we intend to provide =
alternative insights into the learning content structure. In addition, =
it simplifies significantly the editing process. These views turn =
editing the key relations(structures) into a "folder-subfolder" =
management. Since Topic Partonomy, Topic Taxonomy or Topic Typing are =
dominating structures in most applications only a small part of the =
relations need to be edited not in the friendly "folder-subfolder" =
style.

TM4L provides now two access modes to the topic collections: Subject =
Topics and All Topics. As before, in the first mode only the subject =
domain topics are displayed, all 'utility' topics such as resource =
types, association types, roles, predefined topics, etc. are 'hidden'. =
In the new All Topics option all topics are displayed, to enable the =
author to edit or delete topics having complementary role in the =
organization of the learning collection.=20
The TM4L package also includes two topic map examples. The Wine subject =
was taken by the Prot=E9g=E9 team, the Opera was taken by the Ontopia =
team so we were left with the Beer subject. Any input on this =
significant subject will be highly appreciated. You can email it to Gary =
(gmonteith@yahoo.com) and Christo (dichevc@wssu.edu). For balance we =
have also included a topic map on XHTML.=20

We will appreciate your feedback.
Cheers,
Darina
