Hi Christoph,
* Christoph Froehlich
|
| yes, we are using TM4j currently and no, we do not use tmapi. Sorry.
OK.
| Our initial goal was to write the code against tmapi but there was
| something that did prevent us from quick success. I do not recall
| what it was exactly, but I don't think that it is really serious.
|
| While we decided to make it work for now with TM4J, we kept in mind,
| that it would be fine to use other tm-engines as well. There are
| some efforts in the code that tends to being "vendor-independent".
I think if you want to be independent of the TM engine you should
really use TMAPI and not worry about supporting multiple APIs. That
should make it quite easy to do, too.
| So, if your question aims at whether it is possible to use semantag
| with the omnigator then:
| Not out of the box, but it shouldn't be too much effort to implement.
Actually, my hidden agenda consisted of two points:
a) make sure they are using a real TM engine and not just doing funky
stuff with XTM and XSLT,
b) find out which TM engine, so I can update my personal "TM universe
topic map".
:-)
As for use with the Omnigator: I didn't really expect that. The
Omnigator just browses TMs, so it's hard to see how this would work.
As for supporting the OKS: if you support TMAPI you've got support for
OKS (and TinyTIM, and XTMCMS).
Anyway, thanks for the answer.
