[topicmapmail] Creating Topic-Map-View of relational data

Dear readers,
 
I'm faced with the challenge to create Topic Map Views (governed by the TMDM) 
about relational data.
 
Therefore I need an interface which maps SQL-statements (the queries which 
retrieve information from the relational data) into a list of "statements which 
create a Topic Map View".
 
Unfortunately tolog (or TMQL) doesn't provide these kinds of "statements" at 
the moment. Therefore I can imagine a mapping between the SQL-statements and 
some TMAPI statements. (I have to access the produced Topic Map with the TMAPI 
interface afterwards).
 
But before starting to develop my own approach I want to ask for existing 
experiences inside community which addresses these problems. I'm highly 
interested in reusing that expertise!
