Hi Robert,
if you mean a soap-based webservice when you say "web API", I think the best
choice for transfering the data is xtm. At least, if the service caller/user
also uses topicmaps. This could easily be implemented by using the soap
style "document".
regards,
Stefan

Betreff: [topicmapmail] Web services for Topic Maps
Dear all,
I am creating a web API for the Wordsmyth Dictionary-Thesaurus, which
includes a word-relations semantic network (with a number of
relations like "people associated with" and "instrument used for" in
addition to those in WordNet - part of, and kind of). Does anyone
have advice on how to represent the data so it would be useful for
those constructing Topic Maps? Os SQL adequate or does it need to be
stored as a topic map?
Bob
