Ack. My apologies. Before anyone corrects me, I will do so myself;
I probably should have thought this through a bit better before
posting. I'd come up with an implementation solution for the deferred
mergemap problem that worked, and was trying to work backwards to
come up with a suitable syntax. It didn't occur to me until after
I'd clicked 'Send' that my current proposal simply doesn't work as
is, since no links except those within <mergeMap> actually demand
the loading of an external Topic Map, they all just create Topics
within the current map. Duh.
So I think the proposal will only to apply (whatever PSI, in
whatever way) to <mergeMap> and its functionality, not in general
to links within the Topic Map. I'm still trying to come up with a
reasonable way to express this in XTM and LTM syntax... ideas welcome.
