[topicmapmail] multiple Source Locators

hi topicmap community,

while bringing TMAPI from rc1 to a final release we came across a last 
issue. I wonder what you all think about that, cause you are the users.
Its about merging:
In TMAPI we have a "automerging" feature which can be switched on and 
off. Imagine the following example:

Topic A with subject locator a and TopicName "smile"
Topic B with subject locator b and no TopicName.

TopicName merging is switched on and the following command is called to 
add a TopicName for Topic B

(Topic B).createTopicName(.."smile"..)

Now Topic A and B have to be merged.

Since today i thought it can't be done, cause of different subject locator.

Lars Marius Garshol proposed to use "mutliple subject locators" to avoid 
all those problems.
he also said[1] that on the meeting in amsterdam, earlier this year, it 
was decided to use multiple subject locators in TMDM.
Since TMAPI relies on the Topic Map Data Model (TMDM), TMAPI has to 
implement this.

I think "multiple subject locators" is solving alot of problems, but  on 
the other hand maybe creates new stuff to think about.

What are you thinking about this issue?
