Hi Lars,

thank you about your suggestions; when I speak abour facets I mean=20
faceted classification because this is my environment. I'd like ask=20
you if you think the librarian of a small centre can evaluate the best=20
open source software for make a topic map applied to his own digital=20
library but wich is compatible with another information?. Because in=20
fact, we need network knowledge organization systems interoperables.=20
For instance, if I build a topic map for my library about tax law,=20
maybe a user can ask me information about tax directives in the=20
European Union, how could become my topic map interoperable with topic=20
maps made by documentation service of European Union if they have=20
differents PSI. It's like to do compatible two differents thesaurus,=20
both they are about same subject but sometimes descriptors are=20
differents, can the computer understand this one with topic maps or=20
with an ontology?. So, it seems we have a problem of interoperability=20
in two levels: 1) Level of topics or descriptors, 2) level of PSI for=20
define links between topics and occurrences.
I look forward hearing to you.
Thank you very much
