There was an interesting "3d Topic Map Browser" at

I think you need Internet Explorer and the right VRML plugin.

There is also the Topic Map Designer, by Ron Heckel, at

http://www.topicmap-design.com/en/topicmap-designer.htm

It is pretty buggy (it was a thesis project), but well worth looking at. 
  It can project topics onto the surface of a sphere, which can be 
rotated and zoomed.  I remember once putting the entire Opera topic map 
on it.  IIRC, it is Windows-only.
