Heh :) I'm not 100% sure about the 'seamless' metaphor. All these
technologies are about stitching together fragments of scattered
information into a (necessarily patchwork) composite. It seems quite
natural on such a metaphor to expect to see the seams that join the
parts.... (though I'd hope they're not frankenstein ugly!).
