[topicmapmail] An Idea about TopicMap intelligent views

Stefan,

If you always return topics within the local context only, how do I find
topics that relate to where I am, but are out of the context?
Say, I am hungry and click on orders, but what I actually mean is to order
an appetite reducing pill coz I'm going to loose weight. Suppose, it is out
of context. Do I have to go back to the begining of my path or shall I reset
the context?

I had a similar problem with data matching.
Say, an operator is looking for a record in the database and enters a few
incomplete or misspelt keywords. The system finds 100 matches that match
closely and 25 that match remotely. It is logical to give the most close
matches back to the operator, but what was actually ment is in those 25 that
match remotely coz the keywords were misspelt. The operator does not get
those matches and has to search for them manually which takes more time.

I wonder how others solved this problem.
I think the solution lies in an adaptive learning by the application and
smart presentation, given that the actual matching process is as efficient
as possible. The adaptive learning is not that hard to implement, but the
presentation is a hassle to me.

Cheers,
Max
