[topicmapmail] .NET code/implementations for topic maps?

Hi Gary.
http://eu.webmatrixhosting.net/Fusax/conclave.aspx is a tool I built that
has a topicmap-LIKE datastore which in the current implementation uses SQL2K
as its backing store, although this implementation is naturally enough
shielded by an interface. If you're looking for a standards compiant
topicmap solution it's not for you. Conclave has been deployed by myself as
the intranet for one consultancy, and the intranent for one other
development department I know of, and if you're looking for something in
that direction it may serve a purpose.... Conclave if free for
non-commercial usage. It's a personal project from which I've gained some
work, it's not an actual commercial "product" however.
Conclave hasn't been update in a month or two as I'm just winding up a
revision of Conclaves parsers. A new version will be available by the end of
the month along with an initial portion of documentation for the
framework.... I finally got around to actually using NDoc rather than just
threatening to.
I'd not advocate a non-standard implementation on the topicmap list, as to
do so would seem, well perhaps in poor taste or certainly in that ballpark.
If there's anything about Conclave that catches your eye you can e-mail me
personally, and if not it'd be great if you kept us informed of how you get
on. I'd be very interested in anything you come up with around Tolog.
If TM4J has caught you're eye then you might consider the feasability of
porting it to .NET using J# as I've noted two Prolog implementations in Java
that are available under .NET by virture of J# so it would appear viable for
non-trivial ports.
Cheers,
Guy.

Subject: [topicmapmail] .NET code/implementations for topic maps?
Where can I find .NET code or implementations for using topic maps? (C# or
VB.NET or J# or any of the other .NET langs would do...)
After running across topic maps a few months ago, I've spent the last month
reading up on them. I've finally wrapped my hand around them (mostly!), and
think it could be a great solution for the knowledge management challenge
I'm
involved in solving for a small non-profit (NGO).
I'm a bit surprised, though, that my extensive Googling hasn't turned up
anything TM-related for C# or VB.NET. Is no one using topic maps with these
languages yet?
While it _might_ be possible to wrap a COM object around some of the Java
projects out there (like TM4J)and use them that way, I see no evidence that
anyone's done this yet...
(Not to mention that we've got no Java experience inhouse and the rest of
the
IT system is SQL2K, C#, and ASP.NET based... I'm a bit reluctant to toss
Java
into the mix if it can be avoided).
I could also try to port some of the Java or Python stuff to the
NET-equivalents, but by the time I bother with that, I might as well code my
own set of simple TM objects and a limited tolog-like parser. So I'm
thinking.
But before I attack that project, I'd like to know if there's a project
started I just don' t know about yet? Is anyone using topic maps with .NET
yet?
Advice welcome!
PS: Any commercial tools in the 4-5 digit price range are way out of our
budget; open source or free is preferred, but cheap works too. :)
