| I have some questions on Tolog based on my little understanding on
| this query language.
Given your questions your understanding seems to me to be pretty much
complete. :-)
| Pre-determining the various associations availabe is ruled out as I
| do not know what Topic Maps have been generated.
tolog as it currently stands does not support this. It's obviously a
necessary feature, and it's one that is being worked on. I'm preparing
a paper for Extreme Markup that will describe the features that will
let you do this, and my presentation of tolog for the TMQL session of
the ISO meeting in London also discusses them. (I can send you these
if you are interested.)
| Are there any other rules using which I can make my queries
| powerful? Can I retrieve associations by just using the keyword that
| the user has typed in?
That may be possible if you can work out what associations are
involved, but to use tolog you have to know which associations you are
querying. So if you don't know those you'll have to use the API,
basically.
