Hi,
It looks like that WordNet from Princeton Univ.
is the source for this. So the Plumb Design
people "just" adopted their visualization tool
to the data source. BTW: WordNet can be easily
converted into XTM. Maybe someone from the TM
community has already done that?
Concerning the graphical visualization of Plumb
Design, I have to say that it is - for sure - an
eye catcher. But it is not really easy and efficient
to use. I prefer the StarTree from inxight much more.
It does not look that sexy but offers many advantages.
BTW: That's the reason why we integrated it into k42 -
our Topic Map engine.

Betreff: [topicmapmail] Plumb Visual Thesaurus Redesigned
After nearly a year, I went back and looked at Plumb's Visual Thesaurus
[1]again. It has been redesigned and enhanced, and it is stunning. If
you
have not seen the site, you MUST look at it as a fine example of
visualization. If you have seen it in the past, check it out again.
The Plumb system is based on a relational database, not topic maps, but
the
Thesaurus seems to achieve just about everything you would want from a
topic
map on the same subject (except, of course, interchange of the data).
Cheers,
Tom P
