[topicmapmail] ANN: UNSPSC topic map available

Hi all,

For no particular reason other than "because it is there", I've converted=
 the=20
Universal Standard Products and Services Classification into XTM form and=
=20
uploaded the results to [1]. For those that don't know the UNSPSC is a=20
standard hierarchical classification of commercial products and services =
and,=20
according to the publishers "is used in sell side and buy side catalogs a=
nd=20
as a standardized account code in analyzing expenditure (Spend Analysis).=
"=20
[2].

The map is some 21000 topics and >60000 associations in size, so topic ma=
p=20
application developers might be interested in it from that point of view.

Lacking any form of suitable subject indicator I have opted to create a=20
private urn namespace x-unspsc. Perhaps someone on this list could sugges=
t a=20
better way to provide useful subject indicators for this map ?

As an aside, if anyone has any other publicly available topic maps that t=
hey=20
would like to promote, please let me know so that I can make entries in m=
y=20
topic map [3]
