There is not yet a formal standard API for topic maps. One group is attem=
pting=20
to create a common programming interface called TMAPI. Currently TMAPI is=
=20
restricted to representation of the basic topic map constructs only, but =
in=20
future iterations we hope to add higher-level functionality such as stand=
ard=20
APIs for topic map parsing and querying. You can get more information on=20

Alternatively, if you are a Java programmer, you may be interested in TM4=
J=20
