Note the phrase "manage information more successfully". My recent forays
into the KM world have indicated the stress of KM is on management rather
than on knowledge. KM is more concerned with techniques to manage knowledge
than techniques to represent knowledge. Whilst, like you, I have qualms
about listing topic maps as a subclass of AI, I think Tony's suggestions
that we make it a subclass of library type knowledge classification metadata
a more realistic idea.
