A couple of years ago I wrote a paper on using Topic Maps to capture the
knowledge base for an analytical and inference engine we've developed here. 

I've changed my thinking about a number of points lately, but you might
still get some ideas from the paper as it was published in "Markup

XTM is not so much a language (in the sense that C++ or Java is a language)
as it is simply one standardized interchange notation for a larger concept,
