I'm not aware of any widespread use yet, but DDDS is basically an enhancement
to DNS that is designed to be as easy as possible to implement & deploy.  One
issue is that the W3C does not seem keen on widespread use of URNs.  They would
prefer people to provide URLs instead, and just manage them persistently.  The
lack of W3C support certainly makes life tougher for DDDS.
