Hello Steve,

about your question :

Mondeca ITM supports the topic naming constraint by default. There is no
option to avoid the TNC when you use the API or the XTM import feature. It
is still possible to avoid the TNC using the administrator editing tool.

Sincerely
jean Delahousse

software

I am interested to know how much topic map software has actually
implemented support for the Topic Naming Constraint, and the exact
nature of that support.

Ontopia's topic map engine makes the TNC optional. Applications
that need it can invoke name-based merging completely in accordance
with the TNC, but this is not the default. The reasons are partly
due to performance, partly because many applications simply do not
need the overhead.

I would be interested to know the extent of support for the TNC in
the following tools:

- TM4J
- K42
- Mondeca ITM
- Topic Map Loom
- tmproc
- GooseWorks Toolkit
- Perl::XTM
- Nexist
- ZTM

Is there any other topic map software that I have missed?

Steve
