I recently posted about this on the sc34 mailing list, so my apologies to=

those who get this as a duplicate...

I have written a short paper on an approach to extending the concept of s=
cope=20
as it currently exists in XTM/HyTM. The paper describes the shortcomings =
of=20
scope as it is currently defined and proposes a more structured approach =
to=20
expressing the context(s) within which a characteristic assignment should=
 be=20
considered valid. Finally, the paper also proposes a way in which this mo=
re=20
complete scope solution can be expressed in XTM/HyTM without any syntax=20
alterations.=20
