At the OASIS meeting in Barcelona I mentioned the topic map IRC
channel and described how useful I'd found IRC to be as a way of
communicating. The TC members asked me to post details on how to
connect to the channel, and so here they are.

The procedure is:

 1) Install an IRC client. (Windows users: <URL: http://www.mirc.com >)

 2) Configure it to connect to server 'irc.openprojects.net', channel
    '#topicmaps'

 3) Tell it to connect, and there you are.

Note that IRC is by no means as intrusive a medium as email is, nor
does it consume anything like as much time. IRC just runs in the
background and can be ignored at will.

I strongly recommend everyone to try it. I doubt you'll be
disappointed. (Well, unless you connect when everyone's asleep, that
is. :)
