Ontopia Announces Partnerships in 8 Countries and 3 Continents
--------------------------------------------------------------

OSLO, NORWAY, 31 MAY 2002 - Ontopia AS, provider of advanced
Topic Map technology and co-creators of the Topic Map standard,
today announced partnerships with leading consultants and
integrators in eight countries across three continents. Partner
agreements have been signed with

 * Diderot Track (Netherlands)
 * Eurostep (Sweden, UK, Finland, Germany, USA)
 * Innodigital (Korea)
 * ISOGEN International (USA)
 * Synergy Incubate (Japan)
 * Techquila (UK)
 * XMLmethods.com (USA)

As a result of these agreements, Ontopia gains partners of the
highest calibre to serve the needs of its customers around the
world, and each of the partners gains access to Ontopia's
flagship product, the Ontopia Knowledge Suite(TM), for use in
applying Topic Maps to provide solutions to its customers.

Topic Maps are a standard technology that bridges the gulf
between information and knowledge. Topic Maps provide a single,
extensible platform for indexing information, integrating
systems, and managing knowledge. Solutions built around Topic
Maps extend easily from one application to another: Indexes
evolve into portals; portals into knowledge bases; knowledge
bases into the foundation for integrated applications. The same
Topic Map data underlies and enables all of these, permitting
repeated leveraging of investment. And Topic Maps are based on
open, international standards, so knowledge is guaranteed
longevity and vendor independence.

The Ontopia Knowledge Suite (OKS) is the world's most complete
and robust suite of Topic Map tools. Written in 100% Java, it
can be used to underpin a wide range of applications, from web
portals to web services, from corporate intranets to enterprise
knowledge bases, and from information integration to application
integration.

"Ontopia is extremely proud to be able to announce these
partnerships," stated Steve Pepper, CEO of Ontopia and Editor of
the XML Topic Map (XTM) specification. "Each of these companies
is among the most highly respected and experienced in their
field. Every one of them has shown a commitment to applying open
standards to protect and enhance the value of their customers'
information. It is a great honour for Ontopia and a vindication
of the quality and maturity of our Topic Map technology that so
many experienced and well-respected companies are so eager to
work with our software."

"Ontopia's OKS product provides a robust, scalable platform for
the delivery of the real benefits of the Topic Map paradigm to
customers," stated Kal Ahmed, Principal of Techquila and author
of the Open Source TM4J Topic Map Engine. "Importantly, Ontopia
have spent a lot of development effort in making it as easy as
possible for their technology to be integrated into a total
solution."

Individual press releases have also been issued.
