[topicmapmail] topic maps ==> site maps

In the TM4J project, we are actually in the process of constructing our new
topic-map driven web-site. So, if you would like to "find out by doing"
please feel free to volunteer ;-)

Seriously though, there are a number of projects which use topic map as an
adjunct to or as the main organising principle of the website. Two
interesting examples are Quid (www.quid.fr) which uses topic map principles
for navigation between encyclopedia articles, and ITU (www.itu.no) in which
almost every page in the site is represented as a topic and the page
content and navigation is entirely generated from the occurrences and
associations contained within the topic map.

For more information on these, you could read the paper I presented at XML
2001 on the "business case" for topic maps (www.techquila.com/bcase.html)

Cheers,

Kal
