| I have not followed that thread carefully, and am not sure to figure
| what the issue is. I understand it has something with the naming of
| roles and associations.
The issue is very simple: how do you name associations and roles in a
completely generic topic map browser.
| In Mondeca's engine, no association can't be created without
| previous definition of a template, this template being itself an
| association linking one "association type" and one or more "role
| type".
Oh, so you don't follow the standard at all? In that case I guess it
doesn't matter what you do.
| Our "best practice" is that association types and role types should
| *always* be named by substantives (nouns).
|
| Is that the issue, or is it more technical?
It is entirely technical. The simplest way to formulate it is: I am
standing on the topic Puccini, which has a born-in association with
Lucca. How do I display the association? How do I select the name of
the association so that it makes sense from both directions?
It may be that by using nouns as names you get associations that don't
have a wrong name from any direction (but no right name from any
either).
