In my reply to another question I pointed you towards the Omnigator,
Ontopia's free topic map browser. This is essentially a teaching aid to
help people understand topic map concepts and test their own topic maps.
You can download it for free from

    http://www.ontopia.net/download/freedownload.html

It installs quite easily on any platform, provided you have already
installed the Java SDK v1.3 or higher.

With it you get an bunch of example topic maps, a user manual, and a short
tutorial on how to create your own topic maps. Once you have created your
own topic map (in XTM, HyTM or LTM syntax), you can browse it using the
Omnigator. It has quite extensive functionality, including the ability to
merge multiple topic maps, perform scope-based filtering, provide a report
of your topic map's statistics, full-text index your topic maps (including
occurrences), etc.

(For those who haven't tried the Omnigator recently, we are now at version
1.2.5 and getting better all the time :-)

Best regards,

Steve
