Martin, your message is either deliberately or unintentionally belligerent,
and I don't see to what end. If you reject the work that has been done (as
indicated here and by your storming out of the meeting in Swindon), do you
want your name removed from the 1.0 Acknowledgements? If you don't want to
be seen as endorsing the XTM specification, then I'm guessing you don't
want
your name on it.

Perhaps I can pour some oil on these waters - as I certainly have been
on the butt end of similar - but in a completely different domain and
context
(you only get three guess where and I'm NOT commenting further
as this is definately political TNT ; -> )

Anyway - my 2 cents - It's tough - when you're out on the bleeding edge
like Martin and I seem to gravitate to - everyone in the process does
not have the same shared knowledge and experience base - and
sometimes its impossible for people - at first blush - to relate how
all the pieces fit together - noone should feel bad about this - its
just life.

The most important thing I've learned however is time does fix
this. Time for myself to absorb the other persons perspective,
time to figure out smarter angle bracket ways of approaching the
problem, and time for everyone to get up on developments
elsewhere around them.

Snag is it always seems we do not have the luxury of time ; -)

Who's idea was all this in the first place, and who said it
would be easy??

Remember - If it was that easy everyone would be doing it
already. More work needed in 2001.

Cheers, DW.
