Mr. Van Vooren started his career in Belgium where he was part of a team developing the first SGML parser (Marklt). He moved to the USA in 1987, as a technical customer representative. He worked at SoftQuad and Avalanche and co-founded InfoDesign. In 1995, after a decade of designing, selling and implementing solutions for a number of SGML companies, he finally joined a user of the technology: Jeppesen Sanderson of Denver, Colorado. He was hired to develop the new Maintenance Information Services' SGML conversion group. He is currently holding the position of Senior Marketing Manager.
