 George Rankin is Production Director of Croner Publications, based in London, United Kingdom. He has worked for Croner for over 4 years, initially as Production Manager, and was appointed to the position of Production Director in July 1996. Previously George worked as Production Manager for Music Master publications (aka Waterlow Information Services) in England for 3 years.
 He is responsible for the provision of all production support services for Croner's publishing centres, including typesetting, SGML, electronic publishing, copy editing and print buying. He is also responsible for planning and implementing the company's production strategy, in line with the company's overall publishing strategy. Additional responsibilties include production operations at CCH Editions' UK offices. During his time in publishing, George has been involved in many major projects, including the introduction of SGML at Croner, management of the company's ambitious electronic publishing programme, utilisation of print on demand by Croner and the enhancement of Music Master's huge database of recorded popular music information. He first got involved in producing a CD as early as 1989.
 George has a diploma in Business Administration gained too long ago to remember what it was all about! Previously, he was a Financial Consultant working with many of the UK's leading financial institutions, providing advice to business and individual investors on pensions, mortgages and unit-linked investments.
 Born in Scotland, George is aged 45 and married with 2 grown up children. He lives in the seaside town of Hastings in Sussex, on England's south coast. He moved south from his native Scotland in 1984.
